Oklahoma and INT

Mandy performed well in Oklahoma! The show was very polished and entertaining. Chrissy even commented that it was the best community theatre performed show that she has ever seen. One of my computer professors from Heidelberg was even in the show and it was fun to chat with him afterward. I also noticed that lots of Marathoners were involved in the show and orchestra.

I competed at Lake Mirage in the INT Men's 1 class on Sunday. I ran 30 and 32 MPH at 15' off and tied my best tournament best of 3 @ 34MPH at 15' off. Unfortunately, this wasn't enough as Steve rounded 4 @ 34MPH at 15' off. Losing by a buoy and finishing second is difficult. I plan to train even more diligently.

Wine Bottling & Wish You Were Here

Mandy and I went to Columbus on Saturday. We bottled the two batches of wine we made with Russ and Elizabeth. We sanitized the bottles, filled them, did final leveling, used the pneumatic corking machine, cleaned the outside of the bottles with Windex, and melted foil over the caps. The labels will be printed early this week and shipped to us. The final step will be to label the bottles with the 2007 House of Bour label. The Washington Riesling (white) was ready to drink and we enjoyed two bottles. The Washington Riesling is a nice light summer wine with a crisp finish. The red wine we produced was some elaborate French name (four words in length) and I won’t subject you to me butchering it. It tasted very young and will need more time to develop.

We decided to go see “Wish You Were Here. Cathy and Lee recommended we go see them for a long time and we finally had the opportunity. They were stellar and so good at Pink Floyd covers that it was eerie. Probably the best cover band I have ever seen. If you like Pink Floyd they are a must see.

They had a giant inflatable pig. > I kept thinking of Josh’s “Please The Pig” song and how he needs this prop for when he plays at Coffee Amici.
