Well I just got an e-mail. I am the Gwendolyn understudy and stage manager. Man, it is just not my year. I'm getting so frustrated. But, I am seriously thinking of doing it, because I can still practice without the pressure of actually doing the play. Plus being a stage manager would be something new. I'm sure it would be interesting to see the other side of things. I dunno. AHHHHHH!!!!
How exciting it is here in Findlay these days! There is flooding everywhere! I left for work Tuesday morning but didn't get far, I found roads closed wherever I went. I finally called work to tell them I didn't know how to get there and went home. Then in the evening I went the safest route to Tiffin I knew of. Main St. to Tiffin Ave. as I passed over the bridge the river was quite a sight to see and people were standing around looking at it. The rest of the drive was completely dry and uneventful. I was going for the second day of auditions for "The Importance of Being Earnest". On my way home two hours later everything was fine until Main St. Main St. was gone!!! I couldn't believe it! Again, I couldn't find a way around it. Finally I got on the highway which got me over the river but then the exit was closed!! After driving 14 miles to the next exit, turning around and coming back I was able to get off at Rt. 12 and take Western back to my end of town. Crazy!!!
Today is the first time I have had a calamity day on the first day of school, that is cool. Additionally, Asa is home as Marathon is flooded. He just found out that he will be off tomorrow also!
As for those auditions, I don't know anything yet. I don't think my chances are great since I have never seen the show and there was amazing competition there. Last month I auditioned for "Little Shop of Horrors" and they gave me "hooker, assistant plant operator" I was not comfortable playing a hooker and knew I would be moody when watching everyone else having fun with other parts. So I turned it down and now some other girl who would have been cut gets a part. So, I'm happy with my decision.
I hope things dry out soon, I do want to get out of the house soon.
