Ramblings....

So a lot of people have called to see that we survived the great 500 year flood in Findlay. We did, yay! I feel bad that I didn't help others more. At the time I couldn't get anywhere and didn't really know how to help. Now that we are dry and I can see the immense damage, I really wished I had found a way to help out. Things are slowly getting better. For awhile everything smelled soooo bad, but that's better now (although Asa says Marathon still smells like dead fish). From my viewpoint the city did a great job of cleaning up. Everywhere you went there were big screen TV's, boxes of band new tennis shoes, hardwood furniture etc. on the street for the trash. It was sad to see strangers digging through other peoples trash looking for things they could sell. Then there was the mosquito problem, they were everywhere!!! Now many places are still closed like the library and my favorite CD shop and restaurants. But I was able to go out downtown and support the places that were able to open. I feel so lucky, thanks to Asa's selection of house that we were spared.

Congratulations to Amanda and her adoring husband Chris on their new arrival, Xander! I can't wait to meet him! Amanda and I have been friends since second grade, so this is just so surreal!

So, the new season of THE OFFICE begins next Thursday!!!! This is such a big deal to me! My life is messy right now and The Office let's me escape. I died when I found the spoiler on NBC.com it was long and spectacular (that's what she said).

Oh, I almost forgot, we bought a new car. I call it, Lindsey. It just came to me, don't know why. But if I think of it as a girl I like it a lot. She is petite and kind of anorexic (she doesn't need much gas to go really far). She is a red VW Jetta. I have only driven her like a mile, after which time she broke down. I'm sick about it. Anyone out there have any advice or stories about learning to drive a manual?? I could use a laugh or a pep talk! I'm really motivated cause if I succeed Asa is going to take me on a weekend trip!!! Do you ever notice how when you buy a new car or something else expensive, other things retaliate? For instance, we now have a broken printer, air conditioner, lawnmower and now car. Seriously, what up???

Oh my gosh, it's almost October, which means it's almost November which means I'm almost 30!!! Crap.

On a positive note, I have had the chance lately to sit back and appreciate what I've got and I have it good in so many ways. God has let me see his hand in things so clearly lately, so I know my life is in his safe hands. The weather is beautiful, I have so many people who love and support me and for the first time since I was a kid I am proud to be me. I'm thankful for YOU too! God bless you all!
