The Beetus

Oh, back to school. Oh, I have no words. But one good thing, I have until the first snow day before I have to watch another Wilford Brimley "Diabeetus" commercial. Seriously, it drives me insane. I thought it was just me, after all being a speech therapist I tune into these things. But as it turns out, other people are obsessed with it to!

Funky Wilford

There are many of these videos out there, some of them animated! I feel so much better.

I also found a comment out there that I feel sums it up perfectly:

strategy for selling tonz of medical supplies: get an old, righteously mustachioed Mormon most famous for waxing eloquent on the health benefits of a humble grain cereal. ensure that he mispronounces the name of the disease in a very hilarious way. then make several different versions of the commercial, and watch havok and hilarity ensue. thanks liberty medical! DIABEETUS!

Oh and Asa always told me that older people often say it that way. Well this cool grandma does not seem to think so!

What she's laughing at:

I feel so good and vindicated! I can now live in peace.

A passion of mine

I just came across a certain video and got fired up. But then realized it wasn't all bad. I have run into people that don't seem to realize that the constant battle for the rights of the unborn is at an important place. Just listen to Obama, he acknowledges the distance that 'pro-lifers' like me have made in ending what I feel is the holocaust of the unborn.

We support The Center for Bioethical Reform, shown here at good ole' BGSU

He even dares to thank Planned Parenthood on behalf of all men!!!! I interpret that as thank you for all the fun we get to have without having to be real men who respect women and children! Then somehow he jumps to firing up the ladies by making the flimsy generalization that to lose abortion rights is to lose respect from men and become "unequal" with them. Now I have to point out the faulty logic here. So when a man lusts after a woman is he more going to respect the one who he can use and throw away without a worry to him (after all she can get an abortion) or one that refuses to belittle her gift of human life creation just to serve his lust. However you feel about that, I know which woman I am. I believe that equality does not equal a woman becoming like a man. Treating her ability to create life as a sort of disease to be treated. That does not sound like respect or equality to me!
